- Imagine your stereotype being of someone who always steals, hangs out on the street and is impolite. Your human actions then by definition shouldn't ever match the stereotype, or you will be judged exactly as such. You make one human mistake and people judge you on behalf of your decent. For example, most Moroccans in the Netherlands wrongly become a prejudice of what people have experienced or seen. So if my Moroccan friend does something wrong or stupid, he'll be put right back in that stereotype.
- Once you've been put in a category, like Asians and being smart, it will grow on you and lead to you trying to live up and beyond to that stereotype. You'll become what people say you are.
