I opened my bedroom door
and stepped outside,
Just to find a traumatized me, gore
hidden in plain sight.
Mother awoke the night, all over the floor
left and right.
Her body made its way out bipolar doors
the human inside came to light.
My teeth can wait 'til dawn, I thought
until the smell is gone.
Instead I write, that you may never feel that fright
and see that sight,
Because I'm not brushing my teeth tonight.
